ترخيم

had a go at marbling paper today. marbling or ebru is a artisitque technique that used alot on book interior binding -it's turkish if im not mistaken- will definatly look forward to learning more, im hooked.

as i don't know the "traditional" techniques/solutions, I had to improvise. yes i jump both feet in then look! :p

be warned, it's extremely addictive.

*actual colors are paler & more flourescent -weird combination i know!- than in photos

hi sam, sorry it took me forever to answer. this is painting on water as some would call it, more commonly Ebru. a turkish art form for coloring paper. I was just improvising here as i dont know the proper solutions used, but the idea is to fill a dish or whatever with gelatiny sort of liquid, then drip water resistant colors on the surface. then you drop ur piece of paper right on top of it, make sure its spread evenly, no bubbles, then pull it off and ur done. its crazy sort of amazing designs u can make. just google Ebru, or better yet search it on u-tube, u'll see propper videos of masters at work.
